Sometimes, you don’t know what you’re looking for until you find it.
That’s why we’ve aded a dynamic new feature to Castanet’s classified section.
Marketplace Live is a constantly updated feed of ads from all sections displayed in an easy to view scroll with large photos.
Shopping for tires? Maybe you’ll come across some patio furniture that catches your eye along the way. Simply click on the image to go straight to the seller’s ad.
Once you’re there, you’ll notice we’ve also improved our messaging system between seller and buyer.
Marketplace Live pulls listings from the more than 60,000 ads in our classifieds section – the largest in the Okanagan.
You’ll want to keep coming back to see what’s new – and you get notifications on items you’re looking for, as well.
You can add items to watchlists and pop open a gallery of available images for any item – all without leaving the main Marketplace page.
You’ll also see an animated flame graphic on “hot items” that are getting lots of attention – your key to get in while the getting is good.
It’s a fast, easy to find what you’re looking for – and a whole lot more!

Kelowna accounting firm Grant Thornton was the winner of Castanet's Foodapalooza video challenge over the summer.
The challenge was in support of the Central Okanagan Food Bank, and encouraged business to donate to the food bank while making a fun video and challenging others to do the same.
The Grant Thornton crew came up with an entertaining, Pokemon-themed video.
For their effort, they win a $5,000 advertising package on Castanet.
The Foodapalozza campaign brought in more than $12,900 and 3,400 pounds of food.
Here's Grant Thornton's video again, for those who missed it.
Castanet's Foodapalooza is rolling right along – and filling shelves at the Central Okanagan Community Food Bank.
The summer viral video contest is catching on.
We asked local businesses to come up with the most creative and fun video while collecting food and cash for the food bank. Each business makes their own video, then challenges five others to do the same.
So far, we've had more than 20 videos submitted, and more come in every week. And you don't have to wait to be challenged – start now and challenge five of your friends.
At the end of the summer, our assembled brain trust will select the most amusing video and award that company with a $5,000 advertising package on Castanet.
The food bank's Tammy Jackson said, so far, the campaign has brought in $10,770 and 2,413 pounds of food.
"Let's keep this baby rolling!" said Jackson.
She noted the food bank is assisting in a number of areas affected by wildfires in the Interior.
Core items that are depleted quickly are canned protein, canned fruits and vegetables, hearty soups, pasta and sauce, healthy snacks, juice boxes, all ages of baby food, diapers, formula, personal hygiene products, and toilet paper.
The local food bank is accepting donations for all fire-affected areas.
